Middle School
McAlpine Center Renovation
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
John Rex Charter School offers a quality education to economically and racially diverse students in downtown Oklahoma City. The school was founded in 2014 and a middle school was added in 2018. As the middle school grew, additional classroom space was needed. The $1.2 million renovation of the McAlpine Center, located across the street from the elementary school, provides classrooms for 5th through 8th grade students. Elementary and middle school students enjoy the dedicated music and art classrooms. Student workrooms allow space for small group learning and collaboration. The renovation includes a new kitchen, cafeteria, administrative offices, and teacher workrooms. Construction began in April and was completed in August of 2020.
